Sofia Rajab-Leteipan is the Managing Partner of Leteipan & Associates Advocates, a bespoke law firm that focuses its practice on constitutional, public, and international human rights law. She is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, a feminist human rights lawyer and a fierce champion for the protection, promotion, respect and fulfillment of the human rights of women and girls. She specializes in litigation, advocacy, research as well as legal and policy reform on sexual and reproductive health and rights sexual and gender-based violence and the rights of sexual minorities. She works on a range of issues such as sex trafficking, domestic violence, sexual violence, female genital mutilation/cutting, access to safe abortion and post-abortion care, access to contraception, maternal health, forced sterilization of women among others.

Her practice has expanded beyond Kenya, garnering expertise on human rights advocacy and litigation within the African Human Rights System while contributing to African feminist and legal discourse. One of her notable publications is a Training Manual on Litigating before the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights which includes a feminist critique of the communications concerning women’s rights that have been determined at the African Commission.

She is passionate about addressing sexual harassment and dismantling the patriarchy that fuels it, and as the Creator and Host of the Dear Law podcast, has utilised storytelling, feminist and survivor-centered approaches to bring to the fore the sexual harassment experiences of women in the legal profession and the prevalence of sexual harassment in the workplace.

She holds an LLB from the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University and a Masters of Arts in International Studies from the University of Nairobi. She is currently pursuing a Masters in Law in Sexual and Reproductive Rights in Africa at the Centre for Human Rights, University of Pretoria.
